Our Projects
Our work has changed over time, but the purpose has stayed the same: identify real needs, bring good people together, and help improve the community in visible, practical ways.
LOCAL SERVICE
Gurnee Rotary supports community needs through local service projects, food drives, charitable fundraising, nonprofit partnerships, and participation in community events.
Over the years, club members have supported efforts such as Adopt-A-Highway, Gurnee Days, the Gurnee Turkey Trot, local food drives, and charitable activities that benefit area organizations and families.
YOUTH AND SCHOLARSHIPS
Gurnee Rotary has a long history of supporting young people through vocational scholarships, youth exchange, student-focused programs, and youth service opportunities.
These efforts reflect Rotary’s commitment to education, leadership, international understanding, and helping students connect with opportunities beyond the classroom.
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS
Rotary works best when members are connected to real community needs. Gurnee Rotary welcomes speakers and partners from local charities, public agencies, schools, civic organizations, and nonprofit programs.
These relationships help the club understand local issues, identify service opportunities, and support organizations already doing important work.
INTERNATIONAL SERVICE
As part of Rotary International, Gurnee Rotary participates in a broader service mission that reaches beyond the local community.
Rotary’s global work includes health, education, peace, clean water, food security, youth leadership, and the effort to end polio.
ROTARY FOUNDATION AND GIVING
Rotary members support service locally and globally through club projects, charitable fundraising, and The Rotary Foundation.
These efforts help extend the impact of local clubs by supporting larger projects, grants, and international service priorities.
PAST PROJECTS AND TRADITIONS
Gurnee Rotary’s history includes fundraising, community events, youth exchange, scholarships, and fellowship traditions that helped build the club’s local identity.
Early efforts included the Lipizzan Horse Show, 1950s Sock Hop events, and the club’s annual charity auction and dinner.
